Tagged again! This one's from Afrindie Mum.
What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was in my second year of college in Western Massachusetts. I had just gotten together with my first girlfriend. I was coming out like a bottle rocket, which was insane and scary and fun. I was discovering that, despite all the expensive books, college for me was actually about learning how to be a community organizer. I was also beyond thrilled to be north of the Mason Dixon line, surrounded for the first time by people who didn't think that pro-choice people were going to hell in a handbasket and that all feminists are lesbians (though there was something to that in my case) and that George H.W. Bush had been, like, oh my god! The best president ever - EVER!
What were you doing 1 year ago?
Recovering from my wedding, joyfully figuring out what to do with myself when I wasn't planning one. Bringing a painful yet merciful end to a very important friendship that had been dying a slow and agonizing death. Trying to figure out what to make out of the last year of my 20's.
Five snacks I enjoy:
1. Chips and salsa
2. Dark chocolate in pretty much any form
3. Salt and vinegar chips
4. Anything dippped in hummus
5. Wasabi peanuts
Five songs to which I know all the lyrics
1. I've got a feeling - from the soundtrack of the Buffy The Vampire Slayer musical
2. Light My Candle - from Rent
3. Rocks and Water - Deb Talan
4. Honeyed out - Kris Delmhorst
5. Long Ride Home - Patty Griffin
Five things I would do if I were a millionaire:
1. Buy books, books, books
2. Build a crazy kitchen with all sorts of fancy-but-useful kitchen toys
3. Hire a personal trainer
4. Spend summers leading sea kayaking tours
5. Pedicures and massages anytime I damn well please
Five bad habits:
1. Procrastinating, esp. housework
2. Snacking the entire time I'm cooking dinner
3. Hitting snooze at least five times in the morning (okay, 7)
4. Not cutting my toenails until Isadora shrieks in agony when I snuggle up at night
5. Thinking about people I love and miss but not calling them
Five things I like doing:
1. Reading
2. Sea kayaking
3. Cooking
4. Going to the movies
5. Eating out
Five things I would never wear, buy or get new again:
1. A new car - I like 'em broken in
2. Shoes that really hurt, even if they look hot
3. A booby-wrap sweater
4. Pickled pigs feet (no kidding - where I grew up they were in every convenience store)
5. A big tv - there's nothing like a living room completely dominated by the boob tube
Five favorite toys:
1. My iPod
2. My sea kayak
3. The cats
4. New books that I've BOUGHT (not gotten from the library)
5. Cuisinart
So here's the deal: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot
from maternity to madness
cityslicker mom
a la carter
afrindiemum
An Elephant's Gestation
Then select five people to tag:
1. Sster
2. Femiknit Mafia (I'm trying again, Ms. Thing)
3. Barb
4. Julie
5. Johnny (just testing)
That was *some* procrastination tool, but my ass has got to be in a cab at 5:15 am...

COMMENT-BODY:Western Massachusetts....I wish I had met you then. I also attended college out there and am proud to call this liberal state my home.
BTW, I will get around to answering the question you asked me about how I felt about meeting the adoptive parents so soon. I've been mulling it over.
Til I get to it on my blog, let's say my feelings are mixed. I did feel too obligated to look at other couples, but our common sense led us to a much more genuine and family-like relationship than we would have had if we'd done it the agency way.
Anyway, it looks like I'm a bit late as it is....I understand you have a match.
I truly hope everything goes well for you.
